What a Two-Person Album Needs
- Out of the camera roll. If it is in the main photo library, it is one accidental swipe from being seen.
- Locked separately. Your phone passcode protects the phone. Once it is unlocked, it protects nothing.
- Shared with exactly one person. Not a link, not a group, not a folder someone else can be added to later.

Two details matter more than they sound. First, if one of you wants to save a photo the other added, they have to ask - the person who added it decides. Second, you can blur any photo so it appears covered until you choose to reveal it.
The album sits inside your vault behind your access code and optional Face ID. For anything you want kept further back, the Hidden section opens with a second, completely separate code, so unlocking your main vault does not expose it. You can also leave private notes inside an album, behind the same lock.
Games, and Why Photos From Them Stay Put
Our Eyes Only includes two-player games - Truth or Dare, Cards, and a Scavenger Hunt. They are a small feature, but the design point behind them is the same as everything else: every photo and video captured during a game stays inside your vault. Nothing routes through your camera roll on the way, and nothing needs deleting afterwards.
That is the general principle. The safest photo is one that never lands somewhere you then have to remember to clean up.
Setting It Up Together
- Both install Our Eyes Only and set an access code. Turn on Face ID if you want faster unlocking.
- Exchange friend codes privately - in person is best.
- Create a shared album and add your partner to it specifically.
- Import the photos you want in it, then remove the originals from your camera roll once you have confirmed they imported.
- For anything more sensitive, move that album into the Hidden section and set its second code.
Step four is the one people skip. Importing a photo into a vault does nothing if the original is still sitting in the camera roll.
Agree on the Rules Early
The technical part is easy. The part worth actually discussing is what you both expect: whether either of you keeps copies outside the app, what happens to shared albums if the relationship ends, and whether screenshots are acceptable.
